This hotel was a good value. It was located centrally to lots of delicious restaurants and fun nightclubs. We were able to walk to many parts of town and everything else was a short Skytrain ride away. The neighborhood was not "seedy" at all and the hotel itself seemed very secure. The staff was great when we checked in, very friendly. When we thought our air conditioner was not working a man came up right away (within minutes) and showed us how to work it properly (it wasn't really broken). The maid came in the morning after the first night and politely and quickly cleaned the bathroom for us, she wanted to make the bed but we told her not to worry about it. The room itself was very clean, and included a iron (much needed) and a hair dryer (also needed). The window was frosted though and allowed noview.

Value for money, there are few hotels in the downtown Vancouver area that can compete. It is half the price of most others in the area, and most any spot in the downtown core is no more than 20 minutes away. For the price we were particularly impressed by the presence of a refrigerator and microwave. The bad: the rooms are quite small and parking is a touch of a pain, and the whole hotel feels pretty old (it is, but not in a good way). The noise from the street WILL bother some, even from the 14th floor where we stayed. If possible, request a room away from Granville Street if you are worried about noise. All in all, it was above average for the price we paid and in comparison to other similarly outfitted hotels which can be twice the price. Highly recommended overall.
