Reviews of La Luna Inn San Francisco

Customer Rating:

Yes. The staff was friendly and accomodating. Great area for local rest. and bars. The only things I didn't like were - the bath towels were small and coarse and the room smelled like BO when I entered (I got an air freshner for a Walgreens just across the street). Good value. I'd stay there again.

I have stayed at the La Luna several times and it is now passed due for a rehab. It was clean but needed a deep clean especially the bath room. The water pressure in the shower was very low. To go with these disapointments the room rate was almost double what I payed 6 months ago. I don't think I will stay there again unless they make some changes.

This motel is a very good option and, all in all, fantastic value for money.

Location: plenty of restaurants within walking distance, near the park leading to the Golden Gate, good transport to the main tourist attactions (which are NOT within walking distance).

Room: big, clean and with a very comfortable bed.

Free parking and free continental breakfast (coffee, toasts and muffins... basic but free!).

Cons: it's rather noisy because of the busy road nearby and water pressure at the shower is low.

The wifi didn't work in our room and others seemed to say the same thing. The heater in our closet was spotty at best, but to be fair we didn't report this to the front desk as it wasn't a big deal, just a bit cold. The continental breakfast didn't look appealing at all, but this is San Francisco and there are tons of great places to get breakfast, don't waste your morning in your hotel.

The Marina district is a fairly yuppie and bland area of San Francisco; there's a lot more life in other areas of town. It's a nice area and quite relaxed, but not great for younger folks. Older, well-to-do white couples would probably love it.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, the beds were wonderful, and besides the location, I would recommend staying here - if they work out the wifi issues.
