Yes, we would recommend it to others. For the (pricey) location, the value was excellent. We got accurate and helpful restaurant advice from the staff. Even the view from the window was better than they warned us it would be. Pleasant, tasteful, well-appointed rooms.

I called to confirm our reservations and accomodations earlier (I had requested 2 double beds). They would only give me a king - for three people - and offered no roll-away. They did nothing to make up for the lacking of accomodations. When I told them I had called to confirm they said that since I did not have the name of the person there was nothing they would do.
They said they had me down for one queen - yet when I called they said two doubles was confirmed. They acted like giving me a king was doing me a favor. That is the second time I've stayed there and been told one thing and gotten another.
I've been stung twice - shame on me - won't happen again. Don't stay there - they promise you anything and give crap.

The hotel was very nice with friendly staff always happy to help. The hotel has an old school meets new school feel and is well taken care of. When we checked in we were offered an upgrade for a small amount more and we decided to take it. Im glad we did, san francisco is a noisy city all through the night. Honking cabbies, emergency vehicles, trash and street cleaning, etc. With the upgrade we were put on the top (12th floor) and all that noise was barley audible, however if we didnt upgrade and were further down by the street it may have been another story. The room itself was clean, and well decorated with a flat screen tv. The bed was exstremely comfortable and cozy. The only thing to beware of is valet is 38 a night.

The location was excellent. We stayed one night on New Year's Eve. It is right across the street from the Westin (which was where we were attending a New Year's Eve party), just half a block off of Union Square. The reception was friendly. We were on the 10th floor in room 67. At that height, we did not hear any street noise. We appreciated the noon checkout, and we were told that we could extend the checkout to 1 pm if needed. Our room was clean, had a flat screen TV,a comfortable bed, robes, slippers, and excellent water pressure. We felt we got a good deal for the price we paid (about $175) for New Year's Eve. My only complaints would be that the lighting was a little dim and there wasn't a mini fridge. Nothing major. We would definitely stay there again.
