Close to the beautiful Canal Saint Martin, 2 minutes walk from the Gare de l'Est and less than 10 minutes from the Gare du Nord, the charming Villa Saint Martin is located in a quiet street facing the magnificent Convent Des Recollets. La Villette and la Cite des Sciences are just a stone throw away and can be easily reached by strolling along the canals. Paris most trendiest areas such as Bastille and Le Marais are just 15 minutes away by public transport. All the comfortable rooms feature air conditioning, cable TV, phone, hair dryer and Wifi. Guests will have the possibility to enjoy their breakfast either in the hotel's breakfast room or alternatively in their own room. The hotel's bar is just perfect to have drinks before exploring Paris by night. Please be advised that triple room is twin/double with extra bed.
We spent three nights here. It cost around 43 euro per night (via skoosh) for a double en suite room including a cold buffet breakfast which was very good. What a bargain!
The staff were friendly, helpful and all spoke English. As gay travellers we weren't made to feel uncomfortable. The room was clean and perfectly adequate.
The hotel is close to Gare de l'est metro station (making it an easy trip by public transport to and from the airport: train to Gare du Nord one metro stop from there) and there are plenty of cafes around for eating locally. Paris is a large city and you need to get the metro everywhere so it's fair to say the hotel is pretty central - not out in the sticks anyway. It felt fairly safe around there at night.
Can't fault it.

We would reccommend it. Rooms small but clean. Nice baths. Great breakfast. Very convenient to Gare de L'Est and the metro. Quiet, boutique hotel. Staff friendly and extremely helpful.

After reading skoosh and travel wise reviews i knew what to expect. i found the hotel met all our needs. It was clean -tidy -friendly and well placed. After getting a handle on the metro (buy a pass for how many days you need they were great) paris was then our oyster. The hotel is a little compact but you want to be out in this wonderful city not wondering about hotel fixtures and fitting. i will return.

Although not as interesting or individual as some smaller paris hotels, this place was great value for money, in a really good, practical location, had discounted parking at the nearby Gare D'est and with modern rooms. Highly recommend it.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to people, especially if they are coming in via Eurostar. the hotel is right next to Gare D'est and about a 10 minute walk from Gare D'Nord and having done the walk, its a lot nicer than most the other hotels i saw.
It was great value for money, pretty near to everything and while the area is not as picturesque as some in Paris, I thought it was quite interesting with a lot of ethnic food shops and restaurants. Hard to fault really at the price.
